Supporting Learning: My Special Time with Georgie

Supporting Learning: My Special Time with Georgie

Before I had Georgie, I felt l was not doing what was expected of me and I couldn’t do my work as fast as I needed to. My mom and dad had meetings with Georgie, the head teacher and my teacher and organized a time to meet up with Georgie. She is nice and I think I will be the best in the class when I'm done with Georgie sessions.

Georgie is a special teacher who helps with a subject that you might have trouble with, like English or Maths.  When I first met Georgie I came home telling my parents how good it is.  We got to know each other and talked about why I'm a little slow at writing. We did these assessments which were pretty easy. She makes learning fun so this school is lucky because they have the spectacular, super Georgie.

Every week, I meet with Georgie and we either do a planning practice or a  comprehension. She makes all these exercises fun. I get more help in Georgie sessions than in normal lessons because she can focus just on me. She is kind and understanding so if you think the reason you're bad at a subject is embarrassing then tell her because she respects that some people learn differently. Georgie is the kindest teacher I know so I love going to her sessions. Georgie is very encouraging and never insults anyone, no teacher in the whole school does.

Once I finish the Georgie sessions, I feel like I will finish all my english work really quickly, neatly and it will be very interesting because I can plan, come at it with a good attitude and be self confident in my work.
