Congratulations to our Landmark students on their GCSE, IGCSE and FSMQ results
We would like to congratulate the twelve students of our 2023 graduating class on their GCSE, IGCSE and FSMQ results.
Landmark students study for both CIE IGCSE examinations and GCSE examinations. With the release of today's GCSE results we now have a full picture of their achievements.
Overall, 78% of the results have been 9-4 grades and 37% have been 9-7 grades. With grading returning to pre-pandemic levels, both of these percentages are well above the 2019 national averages of 67% for 9-4 and 22% for 9-7. As a non selective school, who admits students throughout secondary school, this is an excellent achievement. We would like to recognise the six students who have been with us for at least four years of their secondary education, who all achieved at least seven 9-4 grades including Mathematics and English, with three of those students achieving seven or more 9-7 grades. We also had some notable results from those students who joined the school later in their secondary education, including a student from Ukraine and others who left previous schools for various reasons.
We would also like to give a special mention to one of our year 10 students who achieved the top grade in French taking the examination a year early and one of our year 11 students who additionally completed the Free Standing Maths Qualification (FSMQ) achieving the highest possible grade. We offer the FSMQ to students who wish to continue and extend their maths education. The FSMQ is excellent preparation for those going on to study maths at a higher level.
The graduating class of 2023 have shown exceptional resilience and dedication to overcome the challenges that have come their way during their secondary education. We are very proud of them. We hope that they can take time to reflect on and celebrate their wide-ranging achievements with their families and friends.
