Landmark International School Receives IB MYP Candidacy
We are excited to announce that we are now a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP)! We aim to introduce the MYP into Years 7, 8 and 9 over the course of the next two years.
Our current KS3 curriculum incorporates elements of the National Curriculum, Cambridge curriculum and others while preparing students for KS4 and I/GCSEs. Students will continue to study I/GCSEs in Years 10 and 11, and we will now move towards using the MYP framework in Years 7, 8 and 9, benefitting from the natural progression from the Primary Years Programme that we use up to year 6, whilst continuing to prepare our students for I/GCSEs and beyond.
A Landmark education aims to ‘“Provide a human-centred approach to learning, ensuring that each individual is nurtured to be self-directed creative thinkers that contribute to making their communities and the world around them a better place.” and an International Baccalaureate education aligns closely with our educational aims.
Over the next months we will be holding parent information sessions, to explain the benefits of the Middle Years Programme and how it will enhance the educational experience for all our students, and what it will entail going forward.
We are looking forward to the journey!
