Unlocking Creativity: Introducing the Primary Art Masterclass at Landmark International School
We are thrilled to announce an exciting addition to our curriculum this academic year - the Primary Art Masterclass! At Landmark, we believe in nurturing the creative spirit in every child, and this new half-termly feature is designed to do just that. Through a combination of Art Gallery explorations, Masterclass workshops, and the creation of reflective Masterpieces, our students will embark on an inspiring artistic journey that connects with their units of learning this term.
Art Gallery Exploration: A Gateway to Imagination
One of the key components of the Primary Art Masterclass is our Art Gallery exploration. Imagine your child stepping into a world adorned with the brilliance of renowned artists. This experience will broaden their horizons, encouraging them to explore, question, and appreciate the diverse forms of artistic expression. Through guided tours and interactive exhibits, our students will learn to respond to different artists, understanding the stories behind the strokes, the emotions beneath the colours, and the significance of each masterpiece.
Masterclass Workshops: Skills that Last a Lifetime
In our Masterclass workshops, our experienced art educators guided your child through the fundamental techniques of drawing and other artistic skills. These workshops are meticulously designed to cater to varying levels of expertise, ensuring that every child receives personalised attention. From mastering the art of shading to experimenting with different mediums, these workshops will empower our young artists with the tools they need to bring their creative visions to life.
Creating Reflective Masterpieces: Where Learning Meets Artistry
The highlight of the Primary Art Masterclass is the creation of reflective Masterpieces. These artworks are not merely expressions of creativity; they are intertwined with the units of learning your child is exploring in their classrooms. By integrating their knowledge from subjects like history, science, or literature into their art, our students will develop a deeper understanding of their academic subjects while honing their artistic talents. This holistic approach fosters critical thinking, enhances problem-solving skills, and encourages a profound connection between learning and self-expression.
Why Art Matters
Art is more than just colours on canvas or shapes on paper; it is a universal language that transcends boundaries. Through the Primary Art Masterclass, we aim to instil in your child a lifelong love for creativity, enabling them to communicate their ideas, emotions, and perspectives effectively. In a world that increasingly values innovation and originality, nurturing artistic skills is not just an option but a necessity.
We invite you to join us in this artistic voyage. Encourage your child to share their creations, ask questions about the artists they have studied, and participate in their artistic endeavours. Together, let’s celebrate the boundless creativity of our young artists and inspire them to reach for the stars through the magic of art.

Soren, Toucan Class: “I learnt to move your pencil towards you to draw a straight line on a piece of paper. The best bit has been learning lots of Arts, and seeing lots of types of portraits.”
