At Landmark International School, we are incredibly proud of our exceptional teaching staff, whose dedication, expertise, and passion for education are at the heart of everything we do. Our teachers come from all around the world, bringing with them a wealth of different experiences, perspectives, and educational backgrounds that enrich the learning environment for all our students. This international diversity fosters a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels valued and supported.
Each member of our team is committed to nurturing the individual potential of every student. With their deep knowledge and personalised approach, they focus on the unique needs, strengths, and aspirations of each child. Whether in the classroom or beyond, our educators work closely with students to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and encourage academic excellence.
We believe that by embracing both diversity and individualised care, our teachers create an environment where every child can thrive, learn, and reach their full potential.
Gareth Turnbull-Jones, Head Teacher and Science Teacher
I come to Landmark as an international educator with over a decade of experience working in international schools in Lusaka, Zambia and London, UK, eight years of experience working for the International Baccalaureate, a contributing author of the Science for the International Student textbook series and a regular contributor to international education conferences and publications, particularly in the area of student wellbeing.
Prior to a career in international education. I worked in state education systems in the UK, Tanzania and Rwanda. Whilst working in Sub-Saharan Africa I worked for and alongside NGO’s to develop school resources, computer rooms, youth centres and libraries for communities in need. This experience taught me that we are all global citizens who are interconnected and it is vital that we develop a human centred education, which is compassionate and empathetic. These are the values that I find in abundance at Landmark and that I want to continue to develop as Head of the school.
Carine Bennett, Head of Primary, DSL and Kingfisher (Recepetion - Year 1) Teacher

Georgina Palfrey, SENDCo
Jenna Fritz, IB Primary Years Programme Coordinator and Robin Class (Year 2) Teacher
Following my dreams to see the world, I embarked on my international teaching career in 2009, after teaching in South London for 2 years. I started in Cambodia, where I was involved in developing International Day celebrations and teaching English in a local orphanage. From there I taught 5 years in a Primary and Secondary School in Bogotá, Colombía. This gave me the opportunity to learn Spanish and work on social projects with displaced refugees in the shanty towns of the city. Here, I gained experience implementing the International Primary Curriculum under my role as the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 Coordinator. My most recent international post was 4 years in Oman, where I taught across Key Stage 1 and 2.
My unique experience teaching on 4 continents (including a voluntary post in a local Ghanain school in 2004), has taught me the incredible value of the diversity within our world. Seeing how technology and travel has expanded opportunities and created an interconnected, globalised society, has given me an understanding of the importance each one of us has to promote and celebrate our similarities and differences as citizens of the world.
Liz Baker, Registrar
Liz graduated with a degree in Business Studies before embarking on a diverse career and extensive world travel. She brings valuable experience in exhibition organisation, having worked on high-profile events such as London Fashion Week and the BBC Good Food Show. With a background in Project Management and as a Business Manager in the training and education sector, Liz's expertise is wide-ranging. After a career break to focus on her growing family, she is thrilled to be applying her skills and experience in the role of Registrar.
Jo Pulford, Data Systems Coordinator, Mathematics Leader and Maths Teacher
Having grown up in Suffolk, Jo completed her Bachelor of Applied Education and Mathematics degree at Oxford Brookes University before moving to Cambridgeshire to start her teaching career.
Jo has taught as a primary class teacher for over twenty five years in a wide range of school settings, teaching pupils across all phases. In addition, she has been able to develop her love of teaching maths by becoming a ‘Leading Maths Teacher’ for Cambridgeshire and then progressed to taking a secondment as a Primary Maths Consultant for the local authority. During that 18 month period, she enjoyed supporting, challenging and inspiring both pupils and teachers across many schools as well as lecturing students at Northampton University. On her return to the classroom she developed her leadership skills further as a deputy head.
Her hobbies include: sewing and embroidery, swimming and pilates. She also loves to spend time with her ‘grown-up’ family and dreams of travelling to New Zealand with them having toured part of Australia several years ago.
Penny Roche, Secondary Years Programme Coordinator, Literacy Leader, DSL and English Teacher
Having lived and worked in England, Scotland, France and Australia in various roles, I completed my degree through the Open University and studied for my Postgraduate Diploma in Education in Western Australia. Since then I have worked in state and independent schools, both in Australia and the UK.
Creativity and the power of stories are fundamental to our ability to communicate ourselves to the world, and to understand the world that we live in. My aim is to help build a space where students’ curiosity can be fostered, their horizons broadened, and where ideas are treated with respect. These values are embodied by Landmark, and I am glad to be continuing my journey here, helping with the development of our international learning community.
Sabine Kite, Bursar
Sabine has over 20 years’ experience of working in education, from independent schools as Assistant Bursar and Bursar to running a very large and successful Language School in Cambridge. Most recently she has been assisting overseas families find the right UK school for their children. Sabine is passionate about education and ensuring everyone gets the absolute maximum out of education.
Language learning is very important to Sabine as she is German and went to boarding school with no prior English knowledge, so she understands the challenges from a student and parents’ point of view.
In her spare time she likes to go walking and cycling and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren as well as travelling.
