IB Learner Profile Blog Series: Risk-taker
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Learner Profile is an integral part of the IB Curriculum. A key component of the core of the each of the IB’s curricula the Learner Profile helps to articulate the IB’s aim ‘to develop internationally minded people’. The Learner Profile consists of ten attributes, all IB learners strive to be:
Inquirers
Knowledgeable
Thinkers
Communicators
Principled
Open-minded
Caring
Risk-takers
Balanced
Reflective
Developing these holistic attributes support students in developing as individuals and members of our community. These attributes will help our students to get on in the world and enable them to adapt to its fast changing nature. They are the attributes that will support Landmark students in becoming lifelong learners.
As Landmark continues on its journey as a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) over the next year we will develop ten blogs, one for each of the Learner Profile attributes. These blogs will be made by different members of our community. Taking a risk for the first blog is Headteacher Gareth Turnbull-Jones who has recorded a short video about the Learner Profile attribute Risk-Taker.
