Children's Mental Health Week: A Week of Awareness, Activities, and Fundraising

Children's Mental Health Week

Landmark International School came together for a meaningful and engaging celebration of Children’s Mental Health Week. Over the course of seven days, students and staff participated in a range of activities designed to raise awareness about mental health and well-being while fundraising for two fantastic charities—Mind Over Cancer and Fulbourn Action 4 Youth. Thanks to the incredible enthusiasm and generosity of our community, we raised an impressive £500 to support these vital causes.

A Week Full of Activities

From creative workshops to physical challenges, the week was packed with opportunities for students to engage, express themselves, and reflect on the importance of mental health. Activities included:

  • Key ring making and a donut wall – two student favourites!

  • Lava lamp making – a calming and creative experience with Mark, our Student Counsellor.

  • Mindfulness, journaling, and guided meditation – activities in Eagle class to promote self-awareness and relaxation.

  • A raffle, tree hugging, sound baths, and food sharing – fostering community spirit and emotional well-being.

  • Staff-led events: An 8-hour bike ride and an exciting bake-off that created a buzz around the school while raising funds.

Inspiring Assemblies

A highlight of the week was the motivational assembly talk by Paul from PoetsIN. His powerful story, including his journey with ADHD, resonated deeply with students and staff, helping to break down stigmas and encourage open conversations about mental health.

Community Reflections

Both staff and students shared fantastic feedback on the week’s events:

  • "It was so exciting for me. Key ring making and the donut wall were my favourite things!"

  • "I think it was really well-organised, with a good mix of activities to engage the children."

  • "I loved seeing the staff get involved, especially with the sponsored bike ride! It was really important for students to see their staff members supporting mental health awareness."

  • "The assembly talk was amazing and so inspiring! It was great to hear someone speak openly about ADHD and mental health."

  • "I would definitely advocate for a week like this again next year!"

A Huge Thank You!

We are incredibly proud of our students, staff, and parents/carers for their enthusiasm, generosity, and commitment to raising awareness about mental health. This week was not just about fundraising—it was about fostering an environment where mental well being is recognised, supported, and discussed openly.

With such positive feedback, we look forward to making Children’s Mental Health Week an annual event. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed—you have made a real difference!
