Science Week: Building Catapults

Toucan and Robin class celebrated Science Week by creating their own catapults and targets out of limited resources.

They worked in small groups, with an appointed project manager who was responsible for asking for more resources and justifying why their groups needed them. The project managers were also appointed to mediate between their groups and ensure that they had a working catapult, that had been tested, before the end of the session.

The students made marvellous designs with creative and imaginary backstories, which they described during the short presentations that they gave when they presented their finished work to one another.
