Landmark Students take on the TCS Mini London Marathon
On Friday, October 14th students from both the primary and secondary school took on the TCS Mini London Marathon. The TCS Mini London Marathon is run at schools all around the country and is a 2.6 mile run and has approximately 600,000 participants.
At Landmark we hosted a family friendly event Primary students ran (or walked) the distance with a parent/guardian, whilst secondary students ran the distance at their own pace! The event encouraged students to have a fit and healthy lifestyle. We hope that it inspires even more of our students to join our Thursday morning and Friday afternoon running clubs!
Whilst there was no specific fundraising for the event, our headteacher Gareth Turnbull-Jones ran the London Marathon to raise money for JDRF and the work they do on diabetes research. Gareth is passionate about diabetes research and has a rare form of diabetes known as Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young (MODY).
